Multnomah county

Oregon’s primary election is tomorrow (Tuesday, May 19.) It’s now too late to mail in your ballot, so if you’ve yet to vote, you’ll need to bring your ballot to a Multnomah County drop box by 8 pm Tuesday.

Some drop boxes are closed this year because of COVID-19, but you can find an up-to-date list of ballot drop locations here.

All registered voters should have received their ballots by now. If you haven’t gotten yours yet, you should call the county’s elections office at 503-988-VOTE—and do it now!

For all the procrastinators out there who still aren’t sure who to vote for, don’t worry—the Mercury’s primary endorsements are a great starting place when deciding on which candidates to support. Here’s our handy ballot cheat sheet, and here are links to endorsements broken down by position:

Portland City Council and Mayor
Local Ballot Measures
Metro Council
Multnomah County District Attorney
Oregon Legislature and Secretary of State
US Representatives and President

If you want more info about all the candidates, you can also consult the Oregon Voter’s Guide. You can find a guide for statewide races here. And here are guides for local races in Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington counties.

As results roll in tomorrow evening, the Mercury Election Strike Force will be bringing you live updates from candidate parties. They’ll be virtual this year, which means no free snacks for us reporters (booooo).

Check back here tomorrow for results—and remember to vote!
