All five severe weather shelters in Portland will reopen Thursday evening at 8 pm as freezing overnight temperatures persist.

The following shelters will open February 24 at 8 pm and close February 25 at 10 am if severe weather conditions are no longer met. According to the National Weather Service, Portland is forecast to hit overnight lows of 25 degrees on Thursday.

Anyone seeking shelter can call 2-1-1 for a free ride. TriMet also offers free rides to anyone going to or from a warming shelter. A complete list of connecting bus lines can be found on Multnomah County’s severe weather website.

Five severe weather shelters in Portland will reopen Wednesday evening as overnight temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-20s.

The following shelters will open February 23 at 8 pm and close February 24 at 10 am if severe weather conditions are no longer met. According to the National Weather Service, Portland is forecast to hit overnight lows of 24 degrees on Wednesday.

The shelters can serve a total of 370 people. On Tuesday night, when temperatures were as low as 14 degrees with wind chill, 230 people stayed in the severe weather shelters. Shelters may reopen later in the week depending on the forecast.

Five severe weather shelters in Multnomah County will open at 8 pm Tuesday as the region braces for freezing overnight temperatures.

Portland is expected to hit a low of 19 degrees Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service. Multnomah County opens severe weather shelters if temperatures drop below 25 degrees, forecasts predict overnight temperatures below 32 degrees with rain, or if there is an inch of snow.

The following locations will open February 22 at 8 pm and close February 23 at 10 am if severe weather conditions are no longer met. Shelters may reopen Wednesday evening depending on the forecast.
