What's Next for Portland after Mayor Adams Just Says No to Reelection?

"Currently, though, the only announced candidates are Brady and Hales."
Simply not true! VOTE MAX!

Don't you have some yards to mow, Max?

VOTE HALES.

what's up with the cycling graphic? The only time Sam ever rides a bike is for a photo opportunity.

Don't be so condescending Streetcar Hales.

The kids gotta point, and is in the race.
5
Why aren't our national officials ever this interesting? :(
6
while there is a lot that goes into deciding who would be the best mayor for portland, i will say this....new seasons is pretty cool, and the portland streetcar sucks

"Vote Hales"???? Why would ANYONE (who actually lives in the City of Portland) vote for Hales? Excluding those who seek to profit off the streetcar deal he'd surely attempt to introduce, which we don't need, can't afford, and -truth be told- don't want?

No. While I am absolutely ecstatic that Adams (for whatever reason, really) isn't even going to attempt another run, which he'd lose, I'm pretty certain, the only candidate I can see who is worthy of my vote is Brady. She is a sharp lady, has credentials and professional respect of her peers, a proven track record of getting things done, and no previous political aspirations. She is what our founders would have considered the ideal candidate, someone from within the community, who is reliable, stable, secure in themselves, nominate and elect them, give them one, maybe two terms, then...,
Throw the Lying, Cheating, Thieving Bum the hell out!!!!

Hales has already held a position at City Hall, his motives and morals are, in all likelihood, compromised by his activities with the streetcar folks, and he is just not a good bet.

But, Hey, That's just my personal view of things.

We really don't know either candidates postions on anything yet. I'd suggest we wait and see.
New Seasons is pretty cool, just wish I could afford to shop there regularly.
9
Hales was caught in several lies right out of the gate.
10
"Both have business backgrounds and strong Portland credentials."

Well, Brady has a real business background, building an actual business. Hales worked for the streetcar industry shilling to other local governments.

Trains are cool and look nice going down the street, but Portland already has them and more track in the pipeline. Do we really need to spend more money on this than what is already planed? How about focus on other areas right now - like jobs? If other cities want to connect to MAX or the streetcar (like to LO) then maybe other cities can pay for those extensions.

Please wait...
