Portland is packed with amazing, delicious, and varied restaurants - for a fraction of the price of a "high end" eating establishment such as this. Coming from NYC, I know that other cities have a cultural history of the very monied classes patronizing these kinds of establishments. But I just don't see that culture here. You can spend $8 for a superb meal at a place like Grassa or Luc Lac. You don't need to spend $80 to be surrounded by elaborate decorations and crystal chandeliers.
