There is no need for an expensive new board. What is needed is effective journalism and litigation.

There is most definitely a need for a new board, and a "vote if you can get there" town hall style method of electing it is insane. What if I work that night?

I strongly dislike the appeal and still am not really clear how they're connected.

A new board would be great if they could actually be held accountable any more than can City Hall. As long as the press only makes a half hearted attempt at covering police brutality and corruption, rather than to be on the front lines when the police commit these abuses, there will be no first hand witnesses to tell the truth.
