I asked my granddaddy and he didn't know, why if these old houses are really so great, seeing as how they are listed publicly for sale, why doesn't anybody appreciate them enough to want to live in them and be the first to buy them before the developers?
Maybe this coordinator person will do something to see that all the basic safety measures are taken during demolitions. I've seen houses demolished without any permit whatsoever, several unsafe demos done by unskilled inexperienced crews, no safety fence or containment to secure the site, no permits for the sidewalk and street obstruction during demolition. And the asbestos and lead paint abatement never happens. Saltzman's office and BDS do nothing when neighbors attempt to report code and safety violations.
