I don't agree with the protest and the gear they're trying to sell is dumb, but Michael's is still cool in my book. Love the dogs they serve there. Yes the owner (Michael?) is a crusty republican coot but he'll actually talk to you about the issues he believes in. I've had a couple debates with him that went beyond the usual rhetoric and he makes some intelligent arguments.

Personally, I think the Obama campaign was very slick from a graphic design and message control standpoint.

Damnit, I wish I would have known this was happening. Something I really want to do is go around a gathering of these idiots with a roster sheet, and ask each and every one of them to pledge that they will not accept government entitlements in the form of Medicare or Social Security ever in their life... and as a form of commitment, to sign my sheet so we can send it to the Medicare and SS offices in Washington.

Oh.....this is a blog, I get it. I was wondering where the "reporter's" objectivity was. The wonder is that in a solidly left of center area of Oregon there would be enough right of center folks to fill a parking lot. There are certainly not many opportunities to even have a discussion never mind how to argue just because people don't know how to debate. Years ago when education was 'rounded' kids were taught how to debate around the kitchen table as well as in school. Know what debate is? And they could take one side and in the next round take the opposite. It was fun. It was informative (can't win if you don't know the facts) Everybody seems to take any sort of negative these days as a personal affront. Grow up!
