I get that I'm the low guy on the totem pole because I'm not a songwriter. I genuinely appreciate that you all let me play my covers in between your originals in the song circle. But the level of cognitive dissonance you displayed when I revealed that the beautiful, touching ballad I played was a Taylor Swift deep cut? It's a little unseemly. You know, every song on the radio was written by somebody who does the same thing you do. I'll grant there's a lot of dreck in the pop world, but couldn't the same be said of most folk festivals? I get it. I'm not much of a pop guy myself. But sometimes there's incredible craft in that world, as you inadvertently found out. So at the least, maybe try not hating on Taylor Swift after you find out how good she is at her job. Turn on the radio. Maybe you'll find something you like.—Anonymous
