MusicfestNW has announced the lineup for 2014's festival, scheduled to take place August 16-17 at Waterfront Park. This is the first year the Portland music festival will be held over a weekend at a single location, instead of spread across multiple venues over the course of several days. The headliners are Spoon and Girl Talk, while other performers include Haim, Phantogram, Tune-Yards, Run the Jewels (the collaboration between rappers Killer Mike and El-P), Future Islands, Fucked Up, Man Man, the Antlers, Gardens and Villa, Pink Mountaintops, EMA, Thundercat, the Districts, and Landlady. Portland bands Shy Girls and Modern Kin round out the roster. Pre-sale tickets go on sale Friday, May 2.

• British émigré/comedian John Oliver took Oregon to task in the first episode of his new HBO series Last Week Tonight, another iteration of the familiar TV newsmagazine spoof. Oliver illustrated his disdain for the Cover Oregon debacle by singling out Portland musician Laura Gibson's commissioned ad for the campaign, then had vital singer/songwriter-of-the-moment Lisa Loeb sing a parody of it. In response, the indisputably sweet and wonderful Gibson tweeted, "I just want to come clean and say I am 100 percent responsible for the Cover Oregon website not working. All my fault."
