THIS TIME OF YEAR I start to seriously consider just burrowing under my sheets for the next six weeks like a groundhog. That's why it's the perfect time for one of my local faves—Bridge & Burn—to release a spring/summer lookbook as a reminder that nicer days are (hopefully) just around the corner.

The lookbook ventures out to Sauvie Island to show the collection in action on a day trip to the beach. As we've come to expect from Bridge & Burn's menswear, the collection is full of easy, versatile, and utilitarian pieces in their trademark clean, classic style and earthy color palette. Appropriately for Portland's changing seasons, there's a strong focus on layer-friendly transitional pieces. Sleek but durable jackets, easy plaids, and light linen button-downs define the collection. Pieces like a pair of pineapple-print drawstring shorts also help carry the collection into the hotter months.

"This collection was very textile driven," says Bridge & Burn founder and designer Erik Prowell. "I was able to find some amazing linen blend fabrics that work as well in spring as they do in summer."

The collection hits Bridge & Burn's flagship store (1122 SW Morrison) and other retailers nationwide this month. Check out the latest from Bridge & Burn here!

February Sales

As we wait for more spring/summer collections to start trickling in, don't miss out on all the fall/winter discounts available right now. February is the month of end-of-season sales, and it would be impossible to keep up with everything—but here are a few of the best deals to check out before the month ends.

The Woodlands specializes in super-wearable wardrobe staples that carry from season to season, and now's a good time to stock up with at least 20 percent off all seasonal items. Tanner Goods, 1308 W Burnside, tannergoods.com

If you've been eyeing that Opening Ceremony jacket or those Robert Gellers that you couldn't quite spring for at Frances May, now might be your chance. Up to 65 percent off winter items. Frances May, 1003 SW Washington, francesmay.com

Nau might specialize in high-performance outerwear, but they're also a good place to find some year-round staples. Plus, this is Portland, so we'll probably need heavy winter coats for at least a few more months. It's 40 percent off select winter items. Nau, 304 NW 11th, nau.com

Manifesto Shoes is one of my faves that I can almost never afford, so I'm excited to check this sale out—25 percent off boots, booties, and slippers. Manifesto Shoes, 3806 N Mississippi, manifestoshoes.com
