Perhaps I'm missing something, but was Weiner ever accused of sending pics to people who he had any kind of influence over or anything like that? I thought he was just doing some awkward flirting with the people he wasn't involved in online relationships with.

In other words, are there any allegations of sex harassment, or just asshole behavior+sex?

"I want to say a few words about Anthony Weiner: I'm confident that Weiner is going to beat this thing." - Dan Savage.

Thank you Sarah for putting this together. I've always admired Anita Hill.

Something I haven't found conclusive proof of for Mr. Weiner is whether or not he was using Federal property to do his "dirty" work? That'd be the breaking point for me on it being realistic he resign. Not because I think it's wrong to do what he did (aside from the point Miss Hill brings up Re: power abuse), but that it's a major breach of common sense. I'd get fired for doing what he did on company equipment. Period. Just curious if anyone knows.

I also really respect Ms. Hill, and I don't want to say these women were all 'asking for it' because I don't know how every situation played out, but at least one of the women literally asked him to send her a picture. I don't care what the power dynamic is, if she asks him to send it and he does that is not harassment in my book.

I really wish he had not resigned, but it is probably better for the Dems.

@ FC, I don't. I always reserve a mega-eyeroll for the people whose monocles fall out at "and on GOVERNMENT EQUIPMENT, NO LESS!"

If the most you can pin on someone is that he used his taxpayer-paid-for Blackberry to e-cheat on his wife, then I don't think you really have very much at all.

I really, really wish Weiner would have taken Savage's Advice and said, "I'll resign the moment Sen. Vitter does."

Also, kudos to Sarah for working "juicy" into the sentence proceeding "Weiner."

So hill's point is that women are receiving too much money from social security and that their payouts should be lowered to match their longer life expectancy. Well said Anita, let's find more savings like this.

Shut up CC! My monocle falls out AT SO MUCH. Yeah, I realize it's ridiculous. But I can't help it. I tend to judge people by putting myself in their shoes. And I know my ass would get fired for twittering inappropriately on work equipment. So that's the standard I judge by.

Even though I realize it's stupid. I'm human! (Or a Cup of Fruit trying desperately hard to be human, you decide).

The sad thing is that Weiner was one of very few good and upstanding senators (personal life aside apparently) and he's done, possibly for good. "Justice"Clarance Thomas is an incompetent boob who sexually harassed and bullied Anita Hill and is a proven activist judge and he'll hold that position until he quits or dies.
9
@ Beer, You're right, except that Thomas is not incompetent (I do disagree with him on basically everything,) and Thomas CAN (technically) be impeached by Congress.

He'd probably have to film himself killing a man, however.
10
I recall believing Hill during her testimony, but you still have to ask yourself why she continued to work for Thomas in light of all this sexual harrassment she was getting.
I really only can recall something of the mentioning of a pubic hair on a soda can.

Feminism. I liked what PJ Harvey had to say about the term.

Please wait...
