I haven't had troubles with ending a trip recently, but I blame the price increase on Joe Rose being as bad a driver as a "reporter"

Personally I don't believe his story of how he broke the screen but his high profile complaining about being expected to pay for even part of the damage he caused may be part of the reason for the deductible change.

I'd like a little more transparency with this service as well- what's to stop Car2Go from letting you know how many minutes you spend on trips when you end your rental? I frequently used this service and just had to blindly trust that I wasn't getting ripped off left and right.

I have experienced excruciating wait times trying to log out of a car- the whole idea is to get somewhere in 5 minutes, not spend 20 minutes trying to exit your rental.

And the whole add a dollar a trip thing, for 91 trips? Total bullshit. Zipcar offers full coverage with no deductible for $8 a month- let people opt in to the coverage they want.

My anecdotal research confirms that while 70% of the general population are aggressive/shitty/aggressively shitty drivers, the Car2Go figure is closer to 100%.

So I'm thinking while people are on hold for Car2Go customer service, an automated message could give them driving tips, like "maybe you shouldn't drive that nearly-invisible nine-pound shitbox like it's the fucking General Lee."

I recently quit car2go, after 3 years of frustration. I'm even happier about this decision now.

Early adopter, both car2go and Zipcar. I learned the to love the c2g clown cars for getting around and parking downtown. I liked not worrying about gas, insurance or parking and the cars, once you are actually driving one, are reliable. It's expensive, it started out expensive, got more expensive and it's even more expensive today $16.00/hour. I used it a lot. I would put up with the cost if they were a reliable transportation partner but they're not. There's no feeling in the world like standing in the pouring rain in Chinatown at 2 am, swiping your card like it's a fricking etch a sketch and having the car just sit there...never mind the bogus "not authorized error messages", "no signal have to move car" and run up another 10 minutes moving it, don't even get me started on the app when the weather turns. To their credit when I finally get through to an operator or email car2go Portland they usually offer a driving credit but that's not the point. JUST FIX IT. In the mean time I just signed up for uber

@Colin - It's an interesting phenomenon, and I've been guilty of it myself. I chalk it up to risk tolerance being higher when you're driving on the clock. Hell yeah I'm going to gun it to catch that yellow light if I know it's going to cost me a buck just to sit and wait through a light cycle. I'm guessing the reduced deductible probably won't help that line of thinking, either.

Please wait...
