WEDNESDAY, MARCH 30

Richmond Fontaine
It's a rare occasion when Willy Vlautin and the boys in Richmond Fontaine play a hometown show, and this is one for the history books. It's at the great dive bar Kenton Club to kickoff the band's European tour of their new record, You Can't Go Back if There's Nothing to Go Back To, which is filled with beautiful melancholy stories. It's also their last record, ever—another sad story. COURTNEY FERGUSON

King's Court: A J-Dilla Tribute
Well, this is fantastic news. A full decade after the untimely passing of all-powerful beat wizard J Dilla, some of his foolishly talented Detroit friends are dropping by the Star Theater to spread the love he left behind with a tribute show. If you're into Detroit hip-hop, tonight is unmissable. DIRK VANDERHART
w/Slum Village, Guilty Simpson, Black Milk, Phat Kat; Star Theater, 13 NW 6th, 8 pm, $20-35

THURSDAY, MARCH 31

Craig Robinson
Comedian Craig Robinson (AKA Darryl from The Office) leers over a keyboard, singing faintly horrifying things, but he does it with an impish gleam in his eye, like your grandma when she's feeling bad and decides to have a nip of sherry at lunchtime. Tonight, Robinson brings his winsome-as-fuck material to the stage at Helium. It's definitely gonna be weird. MEGAN BURBANK
Helium Comedy Club, 1510 SE 9th, Thurs 8 pm, Fri-Sat 7:30 & 10 pm, $33-41

Blazers vs. Celtics
The Blazers weren't supposed to be good this year. And yet, the team is in contention for the Western Conference Playoffs. That means every game is important. The Celtics could be another rung on that ladder toward... well, probably toward a first round exit (again), but this team loves to defy conventional wisdom, doesn't it? BOBBY ROBERTS
Moda Center, 1 Center Ct, 7 pm, $28 & up, all ages

FRIDAY, APRIL 1

Gazebos, Boyfriends, The Bedrooms
I could try to tell you what "whoa-pop" is, but it's probably better if you hear Gazebos for yourself. The Seattle four-piece leavens their sugary pop hooks with quirk and murk, resulting in tantalizing and unpredictably infectious tunes that sound like the smart kids taking over the homecoming dance. NED LANNAMAN
Mississippi Studios, 3939 N Mississippi, 9 pm, $10

Road House: The Play!
This revival of Bad Reputation's Road House: The Play! boils the '80s trash classic down to its most potent elements, adds music and a lot of mockery, channeling the glistening majesty of Swayze to brilliant comedic effect. And it stars Portland's fave funny people (including the Merc's own Wm. Steven Humphrey). BOBBY ROBERTS
Siren Theater, 315 NW Davis, Fri-Sat 8 pm, through April 16, $18-22

SATURDAY, APRIL 2

Drag Me to Church
Drag shows are great in bars. But you know where those sequined, feathered lovelies really shine? In a church, natch! Drag Me to Church, a fundraiser for the Q Center, will feature outrageous performances from Ecstasy Inferno, Bolivia Carmichaels, Alma B Itches, and more from the Caravan of Glam, all under the watchful eye of God, who will be shouting, "Werk it, girl!" COURTNEY FERGUSON
First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1126 SW Park, 7 pm, $5, all ages

Club Nitty Gritty Dance Party: DJ Action Slacks, DJ Wildman James
Sometimes your Saturday night is just sliding into a comfortable old dive, sipping an array of cheap, dirty beers that were considered fucking excellent back in the day, and listening to a bunch of music that still is. Tonight is that Saturday, and the Club Nitty Gritty Dance Party has the vintage R&B and soul all queued up. DIRK VANDERHART
Kenton Club, 2025 N Kilpatrick, 9 pm, $5

SUNDAY, APRIL 3

Dreckig, Copy, Amani
Portland's music scene temporarily lost its center of gravity when Papi Fimbres and Shana Lindbeck sojourned to Germany last year. Now they're home again, and the prolific musicians are unveiling Dreckig to Portland ears, the psych-trip-hop project they've been cultivating overseas. NED LANNAMANN

Thief
Back in 1981, a clever, low-budget neo-noir slid into theaters. Starring James Caan, Tuesday Weld, and Willie Nelson, it was about a thief, and it was called Thief, and it marked the feature debut of director Michael Mann—who'd go on to direct stone-cold classics like Heat, The Insider, and Collateral. The gripping, gorgeous Thief is also a classic, and you shouldn't miss it. ERIK HENRIKSEN
Laurelhurst Theater, 2735 E Burnside, 8:45 pm, $4

MONDAY, APRIL 4

Trailermania
Tonight, longtime Portland film archivist Greg Hamilton takes over the Hollywood Theatre with Trailermania—his "mind-blowing reel of mini-masterpiece movie trailers" that he's culled from his collection. These previews will range from sci-fi to horror to exploitation, and feature both old favorites and some shit you've never seen before. Or will ever see again. ERIK HENRIKSEN
Hollywood Theatre, 4122 NE Sandy, 7:30 pm, $9

The Fur Coats, LiquidLight, The Love Junkies
There's no sense in staying in on a Monday night when the Deli Portland's put together this lineup of lovely locals for you: The Fur Coats add R&B slink and shimmy to the psych-rock that's all the rage, and LiquidLight combine shreddy metal technique and heart-on-sleeve pop-punk emoting for a unique take on contemporary rock. NED LANNAMANN
Holocene, 1001 SE Morrison, 8:30 pm, $6

TUESDAY, APRIL 5

Diarrhea Planet, Music Band, Boone Howard
People are still talking about that one time Diarrhea Planet played in the woods at Pickathon. Those crazy kids with the interstellar runs know how to put on a rowdy good time. They're a whirlwind of flying kicks, guitars, hooks, amp surfing, and mean drum beats. This Nashville rock 'n' roll six-piece is a crapload of fun. COURTNEY FERGUSON
Doug Fir, 830 E Burnside, 9 pm, $3 w/RSVP to redbullsoundselect.com

Rob Spillman
As editor of Portland's own (and Brooklyn's own) Tin House, Rob Spillman knows good writing, and his own is no exception. Spillman's new memoir, All Tomorrow's Parties, is a freewheeling, globe-spanning account of Spillman's misspent youth, written in pleasantly clean, pared-down prose. If you've ever been a broke young person with an interest in art, he's got your number. MEGAN BURBANK
