Kathy Griffin
So you may recall that back in 2017, comedian Kathy Griffin snapped a pic of herself holding the decapitated head of Trump. But as it turned out, that was not Trump’s actual head, guys! And we know this because he continues to make the world a terrible, awful place. And yet, Kathy—who regularly entertains the troops, and sticks up for women and LGBTQ+ rights—was the person who was publicly shunned? FUCK THAT NONSENSE. Well I’m thrilled to say that Kathy is BACK, and with a caustic, hilarious vengeance and sense of humor that has never and will never take any prisoners. (Oh, and the name of her return performance? The “Laugh Your Head Off World Tour.” ‘Nuff said.) WM. STEVEN HUMPHREY
8 pm, Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, $35.50-125

To Kill a Mockingbird
This is not the court movie where Samuel L. Jackson screams, “Yes they deserve to die and I hope they burn in hell!” This is the older court movie about racial injustice in the South. The one where Gregory Peck very politely harrumphs at things and Robert Duvall just sorta... radiates energy. Also he’s got a full head of hair and that’s just fuckin’ weird. Anyway, if you haven’t watched this one, you really should. It’s a beloved classic for multiple reasons. Even better—watch this, and then read the Harper Lee book it’s based on. BOBBY ROBERTS
6:30 pm, Hollywood Theatre, $7-9

Void Omnia, Isenordal, Addaura, Burials
Void Omnia is one of the best heavy metal bands out there that you (probably) haven’t heard of yet. Comprised of current and former members of groups like Tombs, Mutilation Rites, Ulthar, and Ruine, the Oakland band plays atmospheric black metal at the breakneck pace of punk rock, and the results are thrilling. Check out their 2016 album Dying Light, where strangled howls, hellish growls, and nonstop blast beats collide with a guitar attack that’s somehow melodic, savage, and space-bound all at the same time. Tonight’s bill also includes Isenordal, a Seattle-based funeral-doom act that also rules. The two bands are touring to support their brand-new split release, out now on cassette and later this year on vinyl. BEN SALMON
