Join Dillon and the Pickles as they get their latest West Coast League campaign underway against the Port Angeles Lefties, and stick around after the game as a fireworks display lights up the outfield at the Walk. (7:30 pm, Walker Stadium, $8 & Up, all ages) CHIPP TERWILLIGER

Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears, Amasa Hines
As evidenced by their status as veterans of pretty much every major American music festival, Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears are known for engaging performances that orbit around Lewis’ unhinged vocal delivery that sounds inspired by the likes of Howlin’ Wolf and James Brown. It’s the kind of guitar hero-centric act that’s not unlike the unifying allure of Jimi Hendrix or Lenny Kravitz (if that’s your thing). (9 pm, Mississippi Studios, $18-20) RYAN J. PRADO

Avatar, Devin Townsend, Dance with the Dead, '68
Devin Townsend is a gosh-darned hero. Not because his music is so great (though it is) or because he saves kittens from trees (he might, who knows?), but because he’s an excellent example of someone who is doing exactly what he wants to do. In the 2000s, Townsend fronted the rising Canadian thrash act Strapping Young Lad, but ended that band so he could fade from the spotlight and focus on making solo records that marry his interests in symphonic metal, prog, pop, operatic vocals, and songs as elaborately layered studio creations. He’s been doing that ever since, and his most recent album Empath is going to sound absolutely massive bouncing around the cavernous Crystal Ballroom. (7 pm, Crystal Ballroom, $25)

Tim Baker, Charlotte Cornfield
The Canadian singer/songwriter and Hey Rosetta! frontman swings through Portland to head up an intimate all-ages show supporting his solo debut, Forever Overhead. (8 pm, The Old Church, $15.50-17.50, all ages)

Don’t come near unless you’re ready to shake it and sweat it. (9 pm, Mississippi Studios, $15-18) WM. STEVEN HUMPHREY
