I Love Cats. And Drinking.
Do you like cats? Do you like drinking? What if you could talk about cats while drinking? Does that sound like fun? What about the possibility of playing cat themed games, or enjoying cat themed entertainments while drinking and talking and/or thinking about cats? Does this sound like a thing you might want to do? Wine on Wheels Portland
Despite the name, this celebration of wine will stay stationary, taking place atop the Ecotrust Rooftop, and tickets include tastings from the 75 different fine wines on offer, locally-sourced appetizers, and a silent auction with proceeds benefitting organizations aimed at helping wheelchair users enjoy their lives more fully. First Annual Portland Taste of Hope
A special evening of dinner, drinks, fun, and fundraising for the benefit of brain tumor patients and their families, with a silent auction and a wine pull as well. (Thurs Aug 1, 7 pm, Jupiter NEXT, $50-100, all ages)

Tualatin Crawfish Festival
People love lobster, but what about the good ol' crawdad, huh? Why can't crawdaddy get some festival love? Tualatin's got the answer to that question with this weekend-long celebration of the crayfish in all his tasty glory, with multiple food, beer, and wine booths available, with kids activities, a watermelon eating contest (for the kids) and a Crawfish eating contest (for the grownups), and if you're one of the first 50 people through the gates on Friday, you get into Saturday for free! Bacon Eggs & Kegs
Breakfast gets bigger and better at the Rose Quarter, with a 30 foot Bloody Mary bar, over 80 local beers and ciders, and some of Portland's finest chefs contributing their spin on breakfast staples, as well as live entertainment in the form of dueling pianos (!) and more. Brews for New Avenues
New Avenues for Youth (NAFY) provides vital services for youth at risk and experiencing homelessness including meal times, supportive housing, job training, avenues to college and education, and much more. Support the organization at their annual fundraiser—According to NAFY, this event is “considered to be the largest rare beer auction in the world,” and brings in many visitors from across the globe. VegOut! Portland Vegan Beer & Food Festival
The VegOut Vegan Beer & Food Festival returns to Holladay Park with two jam-packed days full of live entertainment, educational speakers, chef demonstrations, fitness classes, and over 100 vendors. (Sat-Sun Aug 10-11, 10 am, Holladay Park, $15-50, all ages)

A Midsummer Night's Feast
Oregon Heritage Farms hosts an evening of farm-fresh dining and live entertainment, with fresh and seasonal produce from the Field & Vine culinary team, along with drink pairings from Wild Roots Vodka, Oregonic Tonic Kombucha, and the WillaKenzie Estate winery. 2nd Annual Hyland Block Party
Hyland Estates Winery hosts its 2nd annual summer block party, with music, food trucks, lawn games, and more. Indulge in wines from 00 Wines, Brittan, Chapter 24, Clos Griotte, Domaine Divio, Erath, Hyland, Kelley Fox, Patricia Green Cellars, Penner-Ash, Solena, and Tumwater, food from DX Paella, Tucky's Southern Kitchen & Pantry, and Ruby Jewel, while enjoying live music by Amber Russell, Dante Zapata, and the Ben Rice Band. Portland Hot Sauce Expo
Good hot sauce makes life just a little bit better, doesn’t it? If you think so, head to the hottest show in Portland for the Portland Hot Sauce Expo, where you’ll enjoy food and sauce samples, craft beer, and “some of the most insane eating challenges known to mankind.” (Sat-Sun Aug 17-18, 10 am, OMSI, $7-75)

Distillery Row's Summer Beach Bash & 10 Year Anniversary
Celebrate 10 years of Distillery Row at this year's Beach Bash. Eleven distilleries will take over the parking lot of Westward Whiskey in Southeast Portland to bring the beach and sun to the city. Live music, games, activities, food and summertime cocktails will be flowing. RSVP here to join up for a special 10-year toast at 1:30 pm Admission is free and cocktails are $7 each. 6th Annual Westmoreland/Sellwood Summer Beer Fest
There is no way this neighborhood is getting left out of the sudsy summer festivities, and so for the sixth straight year Westmoreland/Sellwood hosts this big ol' beer fest, with food from San Felipe Taqueria, live music by the Grateful Buds on stage, local beers on tap, and the whole thing is dog and family friendly, too. Admission includes 10 taster pours and a tasting glass. Proceeds benefit Family Dogs New Life Shelter. (Mon Aug 19, 12 pm, Portland U-Brew & Pub, $20)

The Madeleine Uncorked 2019: Vive la France
Seven different French wines are available for the tasting, drinking, and enjoying at the 11th annual Madeleine Uncorked, accompanied by complementary cuisine, a silent auction, and more, all in the Madeleine's beautiful courtyard. (Sat Aug 24, 6 pm, The Madeleine Parish & School, $55)
