The Jim Pepper Native Arts Festival
For the seventh straight year Parkrose High hosts this all-star showcase presented by the Jim Pepper Native Arts Council, for Native American performers, foods, arts, and crafts, benefitting music education, and features a combination of tradition and contemporary style, including Native flute, powwow drum and singers, Native hip-hop, the Gary Ogan Band, the Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble, and the Flying Eagle Band. Portland Fresh Hops Festival
It’s hop-harvesting season, and that means literal tons of fresh hops are making their way to your beer. The annual Fresh Hops Beer Festival will feature more than 50 fresh hop beers made by Oregon brewers, and they’re only available during this magical season (at other times of year, beer’s made with preserved or dried hops). You live in one of the only parts of the world that can get fresh-hop beer (they can’t travel very far), so don’t miss out! Snap! Y2K: Friends Edition

Queen Chief, Dream Wulf

Park & Pool-ooza

The Prids, Shadowlands, The National Honor Society
The Prids might be one of Portland’s longest-running bands, having overcome a number of setbacks throughout their two-decade tenure that would’ve had lesser groups calling it a day. That tenacity carries into the band’s music, as they continue to defy trends in a city and music scene that continues to change. The Prids occupy a corner of music where heartbreak and sadness exist under the hue of sunlight breaking through gray clouds. (Sat Sept 28, 8:30 pm, Bunk Bar, $10) MARK LORE

Batsquatch Festival
Rogue and REI team up to bring the first-ever Batsquatch Festival to Rouge's Eastside Pub and Pilot Brewery. The festival will double as a launch party for REI's new Camp Monsters podcast, with plenty of Rouge's new Batsquatch beer on hand to fuel you during fun camp-related activities like axe throwing, s'mores eating, face painting, and live music by the Pagan Jug Band. Proceeds benefit Camp Ukandu. (Sat Sept 28, 2 pm, Rogue Eastside Pub & Pilot Brewery, $5, all ages)

That's What She Said: Cool Supplies
The summer is over, the rain is here, and it's gonna be a long, cloudy fall. Why not brighten up your night with some some brilliant comedy by feminist comedy collective That’s What She Said, and their latest showcase, "Cool Supplies." Joe Hill
The bestselling author of Horns and Locke and Key returns with Full Throttle, collecting over a dozen of Hill's supernatural thrillers, including “In the Tall Grass,” one of two stories co-written with his father Stephen King, and the basis for the upcoming Netflix movie of the same name. Portland's Own Private Elvis's Official Birthday Bash
John "Elvis" Schroder is turning 57, and Dante's is celebrating in style with a birthday blowout featuring live music from MayRay, The Savage Family Band, and Nice Stalkers, appearances by Michael Dean Damron and Harvey Hogwild, a Voodoo Doughnut birthday 'cake' and loads of doughnuts, and special performances by the King himself. The I, Anonymous Show
