1) Lensflare joke! AHAHAHAHAHAHAfart

2) This pretty much guarantees Giacchino is scoring, which makes me super-happy. I mean, I know Williams could still do it, but I'm pretty sure he's tired, and unless Spielberg himself is asking, he doesn't really do scores anymore.

3) Star Trek '09 was already pretty much a Star Wars movie, so I don't see how this is at all a bad thing.

4) Even if it IS a bad thing, Kathleen Kennedy will just get Ben Affleck to do the next one, and who wouldn't want to see THAT shit?

5) But considering you got an Academy Award-nominated screenwriter, one of the best pop-filmmakers around, and probably the best composer currently working all behind the camera? This is off to a pretty decent start

6) Hope this doesn't mean Star Trek Into Darkness sucks.

Mercury commenters suggest that Wes Anderson is finalizing talks with Disney to direct the next Star Wars movie, starring Bill Murray as Han Solo and Jason Schwartzman as Luke Skywalker, and featuring Angelica Huston as President Mon Mothma.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE FORTHCOMING UNTITLED CLOVERFIELD SEQUEL?!?!?!?!!?
4
Dame Helen Mirren should be cast as Leia, even if it's a 35-year-old Leia.
5
I would love to see a forth Star Wars movie.....forth....there are only three.
6
I'd love to see Sally Forth in a Star Wars movie.
7
Now I'm just thinking how Sally Field could actually conceivably play Older Leia.

"The accumulation of all franchies, Star Trek, Star Wars, and, um, giant monster found footage movies, in the same hands... may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny." -James Madison, Federalist 47
9
You know who'd probably be a pretty good Han Solo?

Chris Pine.

I'm pretty sure there's no way Abrams does another Star Trek movie after this. Paramount's gotta be pissed. From here on out, any bit of press he does for "Into Darkness" is going to be turned into free advertising for Star Wars.
11
Imagine the secrecy and security that will surround him working on this project.
12
DON'T MAKE ME COME OVER THERE AND WRING THE BLASPHEMY OUT OF YOU, HENRIKSEN.
13
Crap, I was hoping Ken Burns would make a 6-part documentary series about Protocol Droids.
14
I hope that George Lucas still gets to write it! It could be called Jar Jar's Big Day, and could be about Jar Jar adopting some lovable, but free-spirited Ewok toddlers. Also, Kevin James makes a cameo as the party clown who sits on Jar Jar's birthday cake.
15
When does Rick Steves' Cloud City air on PBS?
16
Bobby - seems like this news will result in an increase of attention toward Abrams, in which case Paramount wouldn't be so pissed.

NERDS!!!!!!!!!!

I only hope the steam punks are dissappointed. Something about a chode in a top hat, tats and goggles all bummed out that makes my butt hairs just melt......

Please wait...
