Belmont Art Walk
Entertainment for the Peasants, the Belmont art extravaganza, includes a variety of work this month. At Realm 8, Em Jones presents photography and mixed media. Seaplane offers dress sculptures by artist Suzy Root. Stumptown Coffee Roasters displays abstract, acrylic paintings by Lucy Park. Cricket Cafe hosts the sculptural and two-dimensional work of Chris McBeth. Most exhibits run through the first week of November.

The photo-based gallery presents the work of Steve Schapiro. Schapiro's long career as a freelance photographer began in 1960 with the documentary projects "Arkansas Migrant Workers" and "Narcotics Addiction in East Harlem." Throughout the years, Schapiro has photographed the famous (including Jacqueline Kennedy) and the overlooked, as in the series "The Mentally Disturbed and the Prison System."
