THURSDAY,MAY 19

PLAY--Rebecca Gilman is a great playwright, and Laura Faye Smith is a great Portland actress. Add the two together and you get Boy Gets Girl--a creepy thriller about a blind date that goes horribly wrong. The last Gilman play CoHo Theatre produced, the racially charged Spinning Into Butter, was a sensation. JWS

CoHo Theatre, 2257 NW Raleigh, Thurs-Sat 8 pm, Sun 2 pm, $21

MUSIC--Electronic royals Sean Booth and Rob Brown have been delivering some of music's most compelling (and frustrating) sounds for nearly a decade as Autechre--and the heavies are coming to town for the first time in, like, forever. Don't you owe it to your ears? ZP

Berbati's Pan, 10 SW 3rd, 9 pm, $15-18

FRIDAY,MAY 20

MUSIC--Yeah, everyone's a DJ, but none of those posers are MC Chris. Dude does music for the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim and puts out hilarious and totally radical samples/music/rants in the form of CDs with names like Eating's Not Cheating and Life's a Bitch and I'm Her Pimp. See this show and have some effing fun for once. KS

Dante's, 1 SW 3rd, 9:30 pm, $10

FUN WITH QUEERS--Freaks and fetish lovers from all over: You'll want to storm this new dance party. The grand opening festivities include electro-drag performers Caught in Candy, and DJs ChaotiQueer, Stormy, Puppet, and Nancy Bear. You have to wear something fetishy to get in cheap--a hanky in your pocket at the very least. Hot, no? EJ

Noir, 203 SE Grand, 9 pm, $3-5 dress up; $10 street clothes

SATURDAY, MAY 21

TRIBUTE--Stevie Nicks' voice is a beautiful paradox: Like a bird in flight, it's both weightless and, at the same time, powerful. That said, she won't be singing tonight, though local band Plumb Bob will be, hosting an eclectic evening of Nicks covers replete with guest vocalists. PB

Laurelthirst, 2954 NE Glisan, 9:30 pm, $6

JULIETTE LEWIS--Scrawny, sexy/gross actress Juliette Lewis has unveiled her band, Juliette & The Licks, and it's as cheesy, sassy, raspy, and trashy as you're expecting. When else are you going to get this close to someone who did it with Brad Pitt? MS

Dante's, 1 SW 3rd, 9 pm, $10

SUNDAY, MAY 22

PUG LIFE--Come celebrate all things Pug with the 5th annual Pug Crawl, benefiting the Oregon Humane Society. Features animal adoption, a kissing booth, and an absolutely ridiculous/frightening costume contest. Stare in amazement as a parade of awkwardly dressed, snorting animals march down the runway with their equally crazed owners in tow. EAC

Portland Brewing Co., 2730 NW 31st, 1-4 pm, $10 sug. donation

LUCKY MADISON--Local label Lucky Madison's roster probably boasts some of your favorite local bands, if not your closest friends. The Forth, Talkdemonic, and 11 more play a three-day benefit show this weekend, raising money for the Rock 'N' Roll Camp for Girls! MS

Urban Grind, 2214 NE Oregon, luckymadison.com for full schedule, Fri-Sun 4 pm, $7, All Ages

MONDAY,MAY 23

MUSIC--Joining beloved post-popper/Sea and Cake founder Sam Prekop tonight are his deserving labelmates Pit Er Pat, a stutter-stepped keyboard, bass, and drum outfit whose latest, Shakey, alternates between hushed boy and hushed girl vocals. ZP

Doug Fir Lounge, 830 E Burnside, 9 pm, $11.50-13

READING--A jack of many trades, Eric Bogosian has written bleakly funny plays you've actually heard of (Suburbia, Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll). He's also a stellar performer and a gifted novelist, which means his reading of his new book, Wasted Beauty, should be a sight to see. JWS

Powell's City of Books, 1005 W Burnside, 7:30 pm

TUESDAY,MAY 24

BLEEP BLURP--I'm not usually one for the chirpy bleeps and blurps of overly teched-out music, but this Anna Oxygen? Not bad! Laying her gorgeous voice over '80s-flavored hooks and weird-ass stories about little girls and scientists, her music's entertaining, inventive, and a little creepy. In other words: pretty good. EH

w/Avenue D, DJs Nightschool & ASSCLAP; Holocene, 1001 SE Morrison, 9 pm, $7

WEDNESDAY,MAY 25

MUSIQUE AUTOMATIQUE--Stereo Total, no doubt your favorite multi-lingual, mixed-gendered, and nebulously European pop duo, returns for the first time since the release of Do The Bambi--padding themselves comfortably with Hawnay Troof (Chris from XBXRX) and the Gossip. ZP

Berbati's Pan, 10 SW 3rd, 9:30 pm, $10

ROLLERSKATING--Are you desperately looking for activities that don't involve alcohol? Jesus, I am. And in trying not to be a complete lush I've come to skating. It's cheap, it's fun, it burns calories, and it is absolutely not more fun to do drunk. Check out Wednesdays because--as my skating obsessed friend Neona will tell you--"that's the cool night." KS

Oaks Park Roller Rink, on SE 6th off Tacoma, 7-9:30 pm, $5, $1 for skates
