Tonight at 7:30 at the Hollywood Theatre (4122 NE Sandy), Dan Halsted’s Kung Fu Theater series is presenting a 35mm print of what’s probably the best kung fu movie ever made: 1978’s The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, starring Gordon Liu! If you’ve seen 36th Chamber, you know how great it is is; if you haven’t, your pathetic little life is half-assed tragedy.

But hey, check this out! I’ve got a pair of tickets to give away to the person who emails me before 3 pm today with “Bring Da Ruckus” as their subject line and who I sort-of randomly decide I like the best. (Someone always messes this up, so reminder: The show is tonight, which means if you email me tomorrow, I will not be giving you the tickets. Today is January 15, 2013.) This show will likely be busy—the chance to see this movie on 35mm is not, shall we say, a regular occurrence—so if you want to go, either pick up some advance tickets or email me before 3 and hope that I like your email better than everybody else’s. I’ll email the winner back at around 3 to let them know their evening just got way more awesome. Have at.
