You liked Kony 2012, right? You’re gonna love Kony $5,000,000! With Ugandan troops suspending their search for reprehensible and elusive warlord Joseph Kony on Wednesday, the US has put a $5 million bounty on the man’s head. While that means potential riches for the more intrepid of you, it’s also driving worries Uganda’s prone to slip deeper into chaos. Yin and yang.

Gun control victories keep rolling in out east. Following the lead of Connecticut, lawmakers in Maryland have passed strict legislation of their own. The measure would allow the state to audit gun dealers and would better track mentally ill individuals, among other prudent steps.

Meanwhile, gun control efforts in Oregon look like they’ll need to be diluted in order to pass. Federal legislation looks improbable.

And then there are the states broadening gun access.

Not that you’d ever visit a Walmart, but don’t visit a Walmart. The retailer’s inexorable greed has led to staff cuts, which in turn have made it impossible to keep the store adequately stocked. Actually, maybe do visit Walmart. Seems like they might have a cool “Walking Dead” thing going.

Addicted to cocaine? That used to be a pretty big bummer, not to mention a bit of a money pit. Also, a lot of interpersonal tragedy and whatnot. BUT THAT WAS BEFORE LASERS.

If you’ve never been to the Great Lakes, I highly recommend you go—and soon. Besides being the playgrounds of my youth, they’re maybe mere years away from having their regal ecosystems blighted by the Asian carp.

In further bad news, I just snapped this picture of my weather forecast widget. I know some of you are gonna be like: “I love the rain. Sun and warmth bum me out. Summer’s the worst.” To which I respectfully reply: Die.
