Every hour, one child/teenager in the US is injured by a gun, and every year, 453 children/teenagers die in the hospital from gun injuries. The facts are clear and yet even this ABC report can’t call the state of things a crisis. It is a “national health problem.”
Most of these deaths and injuries are caused by stupid parents and family members who leave loaded guns laying around for the kids to find. And kids are naturally curious about everything. Also, I wonder how many children are injured and/or killed by stupid/drunk/careless drivers every year.
