James Carville is everything that is wrong with the Democratic party. He’s a conventional wisdom-spouting, don’t-rock-the-boat court jester for the mainstream Democratic establishment. When it comes to politics, he’s more interested in scoring points than helping people. His predictions don’t pan out, his opinions don’t matter, and over the course of three decades, he’s transitioned from a gifted political analyst to an ethics-challenged hack. I’ve loathed him for years.
So I welcome the news that Carville is moving to Fox News, where he’ll work as a talking head. He belongs over there—where facts don’t matter, where the talk bears no relation to the real world, where politics is just a dumb grudge match. James Carville is finally among his intellectual and ethical peers.
