NBC rolls out their first full-length trailer for Undateable—a new sitcom debuting Thursday, May 29 about four guys who are exceedingly unlucky in the love department, which co-stars one of Portland’s funniest former stand-up talents, Ron Funches. (Whose quick stint on an episode of New Girl last season still has me in stitches.) So how’s the trailer? Weeeeeeeeell, it has a laugh track a live audience telling you when to laugh. That’s never good news. But it does look cute, and as long as the actual show doesn’t focus too much on… oh, how shall I put this…. skin color and weight—then who knows? It might be a hit! I’m a positive person! Check it out.

Bang bang, choo-choo train, let me see you shake that thang. Wm. Steven Humphrey is the editor-in-chief of the Portland Mercury and has held the job since 2000. (So don’t get any funny ideas.)

  1. Thanks! I changed “laugh track” to “live audience telling you when to laugh.” I don’t prefer that myself—but still looking forward to it!
