Sharp-eyed commenter Todd spotted this at a local bus stop—and rightly knew to bring it to the attention of Blogtown right away! Wrote Todd:

Amongst some other crap left in the bus shelter at 25th & Hawthorne, this “Blue Balls” ice tray, along with a receipt showing it was bought at Spencer Gifts in Clackamas last July. Sill there, probably, if anyone wants it.

Zhhhhhooooommmm! (That’s the sound of me running full speed out of the office, leaving nothing behind but a cloud of dust, a spinning desk chair, and softly sobbing employees. Actually, they were crying before I left.)

THANKS, TODD!

Bang bang, choo-choo train, let me see you shake that thang. Wm. Steven Humphrey is the editor-in-chief of the Portland Mercury and has held the job since 2000. (So don’t get any funny ideas.)

  1. The best thing would have been to make blue balls mayonnaise ice cubes.

Turn them into an hors d’oeuvre to set the tone for your next cocktail party by inserting a toothpick into each one when half frozen. Or one of those plastic martini olive swords.
