Though we’re in the midst of another storm, meteorologists don’t expect this one to bring the same severe flooding in the Portland area as the one we just came out of.

Details are starting to emerge about the Southeast Portland woman who was crushed by a tree falling on her house. Roberta “Bobbi” Elleson’s husband told the Oregonian that he tried to save her and that he’d also warned his neighbors that the tree could be dangerous.

These storms and colder temperatures could bring up to 18 inches of new snow to Mt. Hood by Saturday. This is good news after last summer’s drought and diminished snowpack.

America’s most hated Aids drug price gouging CEO Martin Shkreli paid $2 million for the only copy of the WuTang Clan’s 2014 album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, probably pissing off even more people.

A “mystery man” from Iraq showed up at the Oregon Lottery offices in Salem yesterday to pick up the first of 25 annual payments of about $158,000 after winning a $6.4 million jackpot by purchasing a lottery ticket online. The head of the lottery allowed the man to keep his identity secret due to the increased danger to his family in Baghdad if it was learned he’d come into a large sum of cash. This is reportedly the first time a winner’s name has been kept under wraps.

Jimmy McMillanโ€”New Yorker and former political candidate best known for his stance on tenants’ rights and coining the phrase “the rent is too damn high”โ€”announced he’s quitting politics for good.

A California judge hearing the class action lawsuit against Uber ruled yesterday the scope of the suit could be expanded to include even Uber drivers who had accepted arbitration agreements from the company.

Chipotle’s in trouble for sickening customers again, after several cases of E. coli in the Boston area were traced to the chain.

This probably won’t come as a surprise to most of us struggling to get by each month, but a study released yesterday confirmed that there are more low income and high income people in the US than there are people in the middle class.
