It’s the Ides of March, and I’m not feeling so hot, Blogtown. Chalk it up to the ceaseless, chilly hail-rain we’ve been receiving, I guess. But neither news nor mornings stop.
Other folks probably feeling rotten this March 15th, Your Presidential Candidates, who are vying for votes in Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina and Florida. You just know there’s nothing hopeful coming on the Republican side of things.
That Michigan Uber driver who went on a shooting/killing spree? He says Uber did it. Specifically, he says, an Eastern Star and “devil head” popped up on the Uber app. “That is when all the problems started.”
No neighborhood has been more vociferous about less density than tony Eastmoreland, as Portland works to rejigger its zoning code to plan for historic growth. And after months of complaining that its protestations were doing no good, the neighborhood finally got one notable resident to sign on: Mayor Charlie Hales.

The Oregon DEQ is figuring out who its next leader should be, amid serious concerns about the agency’s effectiveness at curbing polluters. Unsurprisingly, people who live around Southeast Portland’s Bullseye Glass have some thoughts.
Meanwhile, the DEQ’s also on the verge of introducing rushed new rules that would address pollution from glass factories in the state. Those could be approved as early as today, though no one knows much about what they’ll say. State lawmakers are telling the agency to slow down.

Will Portland’s mayoral race go into a runoff, with no candidate getting more than 50 percent of the vote in the primary? How about the two city council races? No one knows. Here’s a story about that.
This is awful: Four young people were shot at East Portland community center the Rosewood Initiative over the weekend.
Stop me if you’ve heard this one: SE Foster’s about to get a road diet (with bike lanes!), and business owners say the sky’s falling. Actually: No idea if that’s true. KOIN found one guy who thinks the sky is falling.
Vladimir Putin just ordered the bulk of Russian troops out of Syria, and no one quite knows what to make of it.
Sixty degrees and sunshine cannot come soon enough.
