GOOD MORNING, BLOGTOWN! Remembering the good times, from a portrait hung on high. It’s filled with so much color, and the laughter we left behind. LET’S GO TO PRESS.
The Senate is threatening to roll back banking rules put into place by Obama to protect consumers. (Man, I really wish consumers were the GOP’s constituents!)
Trump is giving Canada and Mexico an opportunity to slip out of his global tariffs on steel and aluminum if they agree to renegotiate NAFTA—and probably other things as he continues to move the goal posts.
On Saturday, he also attended the Gridiron Club Dinner—a tradition where the president and members of the press trade jokes—and to the surprise of no one, Trump’s performance received mixed reviews.
IN OTHER STUPID THINGS THAT TRUMP SAID: Today the prez squirted out a desperate tweet claiming that Obama starting investigating him before the election in order to discredit him.
Oh, and today was supposed to be the DACA deadline (that Trump randomly imposed), but the Supremes have granted the dreamers a temporary stay while the lower courts mount challenges to the ruling.
Over the weekend, an Alabama man killed himself outside the White House fence. As you can probably guess, Trump was away playing golf at the time.
Just 408 days into his presidency, Trump spends his 100th day on a Trump golf course https://t.co/cmpiPxHJgo

OSCAR NEWS (if one cares about such things): The Shape of Water took home Best Picture, Frances McDormand and Gary Oldman won in the best actor categories, Jordan Peele is the first Black person to win Best Original Screenplay for Get Out, Alison Janney deservedly wins Best Supporting Actress (with a bird on her shoulder) for I, Tonya, and Ryan Seacrest wins Best Avoidance of the Subject of Sexual Harassment for his performance on the red carpet. (And apparently, NO, Cookie Lyon did not put a curse on him, dammit.)
A new dating app lets users set their sexual boundaries and consent before the date even begins. TECHNOLOGY!
And it looks like Beyonce (and that guy who she married) will be going on tour again!
Now let’s look up at the WEATHER: A morning shower, but mostly dry day with a high of 53.
And finally… BABIES! They’re just like us. (Actually, I hate Facetime convos, so they’re not like me.)
