Let me cut to the chase: The lineup for the inaugural SPLIFF Film Fest, our film festival made by the stoned for the stoned, has exceeded our expectations. Don’t get me wrong, we thought you all would submit good trippy shit, comedic shorts, quickie documentaries, parodies of anti-pot educational films, total mind fucks, and maybe even some pot-influenced actual fucks (which you did, thank you), but we didn’t expect space ships, Rihanna-inspired blunt tutorials, Cucci Binaca, dancing boobs, Australians, puppets, ASMR candy sandwiches…
There were plenty of dope films we loved that we had to cut—please submit again next year!—but it’s official: we’ve got ourselves a first-of-its-kind film fest. And it’s fucking great.
