If you’re like me and have been all over the place during the Great Holiday Clusterfuck of 2019, you too may have missed out on rising hip-hop artist Dodgr and Mark Ronson’s “Freak of Nature” single, which serves as the theme song for the new animated film Spies In Disguise. The single follows “The Truth,” featuring Alicia Keys, another Ronson/Dodgr collab from the producer’s 2019 album Late Night Feelings.

Released last week, the “Freak of Nature” music video utilizes behind-the-scenes footage of the producer-rapper duo in Ronson’s studio, working hard for that Disney movie money. (Speaking of, make sure to also read our very excellent review of Spies In Disguise, written by Simon Ham, age 12, AKA the spawn of Mercury copy chief Robert Ham.)

While Dodgrโ€”FKA the Last Artful, Dodgrโ€”has grown the majority of her musical/public identity while living in Portland, the LA native is relocating back to Cali (at least for now) to be close to family. Annnnd it doesn’t hurt that she’ll also be closer to a plethora of music industry resources. Regardless, Portland is claiming her forever. Sorry not sorry.
