Much was said in Gov. Kate Brown’s press conference yesterday about new social distancing measures, the closures of restaurants and bars across the state (except for take-out and delivery options), and hospital preparedness—but what about housing and rent control during the scary time of coronavirus? Mayor Ted Wheeler and Multnomah County Chair Deborah Kafoury are leading a press conference this morning to talk about exactly that, and what measures the city and county are planning on taking to protect citizens who are unsure when their next paycheck will arrive. We’re also promised a update on local hospitals, and Tri-County Health Officer Jennifer Vines will also be on hand to give a county-wide COVID-19 update. WATCH THE LIVE PRESS CONFERENCE HERE!
