Okay, here’s today’s awesome idea: AN ADULT CO-ED TEE-BALL LEAGUE! It’s for all the people who want to play softball, but really suck at it. And here’s the great part—teams are only allowed to use kid sized tee-ball equipment (except for maybe gloves). And you can get wasted… which tends to be frowned upon in youth tee-ball situations. SO… WHAT DO YOU THINK?
WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN JOINING A PORTLAND ADULT TEE-BALL LEAGUE?
Naturally if the answer is “no” I’ll skulk away angrily muttering how no one in this town likes to have any goddamn fun—but I’ll accept your judgment.

Only if we get a tax-payer funded stadium. We want BIG crowds
Wait, is it t-balling or tea bagging?
How about the losers get teabagged?
[sort of off-topic: a few years ago one of the weeklies – I think! – had an article about “kitschy, ironic weekend sports leagues” like dodgeball, kickball, and stuff, and it talked about the easy-going, noncompetitiveness, and the sort of picked-last-in-high-school-but-now-I-am-in-charge vibe of it all…. does anyone remember that, or know where it can be found? I’d guess it was 2007. thank you.]
@Jake!
Mmmm… I don’t like kickball. You don’t get to hit things with a stick. Tee-ball also requires more ball control.
THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID!!!!
Nothing likea tea bagging wager to inject some competitive spirit into the games.
I like knowing that I wasn’t the only kid to strike out at tee ball.
Boy, those teabagging jokes sure never get old! Nothing like a puerile sex joke to make us feel superior to those uptight Rethuglicans!
Meanwhile, the government thinks the best response to the problem of too much debt is… more debt. Makes perfect sense. Personally, I’m perfectly comfortable with making my kids (and their kids) pay for our wasteful spending.
me voluptuous, you realize you’re a troll, right?
ROM, you realize you’re a troll, right?
MY NAME IS BOXXY, you realize you’re a troll, right?
I can’t wait any longer for your reply. No, I don’t realize I’m a troll. I think I’m a commenter who, more-or-less, usually contributes to the discussion at hand. And I think you’re mad at me for telling you to shut up in that other thread.
Uh… yeah, dude. It burned me to the very core.
Well, it wasn’t anything personal.
