So first X-Men Origins: Wolverine leaked to the internet and a billion people downloaded it, with approximately 99.99 percent of them telling everyone who would listen how horrible the movie was.

Then Twentieth Century Fox, the studio behind X-Men Origins: Wolverine, was all, “Oh, but the leaked version wasn’t finished! There’s way more footage that’s going to be in the final cut that isn’t in the leaked one, and it makes it a way, way better movie! So you’re only hurting yourself if you watch this unfinished version!”

Then it turned out Fox might have been lyingโ€”and that the version of X-Men Origins: Wolverine that will open in theaters on Friday might very well be the same version that leaked to the internet.

And now, in a desperate, last-ditch effort to get people to go see X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Fox is adding “different endings” to the film, which will run after the end credits. Says Cinematical:

At an advanced screening of X-Men Origins: Wolverine last night in Los Angeles, director Gavin Hood introduced the film by announcing that they’ve included multiple after-the-credits endings spread across several prints of the film, meaning folks will have to visit multiple theaters in order to watch them all.

Goddamn. Fox, just… stop it. Please. Stop. At this point, swear to god, you’re just encouraging people to download the fucking thing out of spite.

  1. Maybe the secret ending will show him doing evil stuff for the CIA (is that who he worked for?). Like killing children. That would please the fanboys who want it to be true to the comic book. Right?

Also, I heard that the leaked version had a lot of unfinished CGI. Like, an unrendered gun flying through the air on wires, people flipping around on wires during fights, and so on. And I heard it was actually kinda cool. But maybe only so if you don’t have a lot invested in the film.

  2. ROM –
This photo is actually from that leaked version. That’s what Hugh Jackman really looks like without lighting/makeup/CGI. Him and half of Australia.

  3. I D/Led the leaked unfinished version. It wasn’t bad. The bad cgi and placeholders were kind of adorable. The story was “meh”, Logan chops a bunch of shit up and there’s some cool explosions. So pretty much it’s way better than Spiderman 3 or X-Men 3. Or any movie with the number 3 in the title.

  4. Ok so the different endings in different theaters? What’s different about that then anything Marvel did to the fanboys in the 90’s? The variant cover nightmares of the what was it 4 Xmen titles? 6 titles?

This is vintage Xmen related horseshit.
