Check out the trailer for the new Woody Allen comedy (?) Whatever Works, in which the normally heeelarious star of Curb Your Enthusiasm Larry David is… well… somewhat less than heeelarious. Woody Allen has obviously fucked this one up in a number of ways, but I’d be interested to hear your opinion on how he fucked this one up in particular. (My vote? The really, really bad depiction of Southerners. I hate Southerners, I am one, I love it when people make fun of Southerners, but this? Amateurish.)

Bang bang, choo-choo train, let me see you shake that thang. Wm. Steven Humphrey is the editor-in-chief of the Portland Mercury and has held the job since 2000. (So don’t get any funny ideas.)

  1. Well that girl’s accent sounds exactly like my southern accent in our fourth grade production of Our Town.

Plus…the pigtails take Woody Allen’s May/December bullshit to a higher level of EWWWW.

(I’m still totally going to see it)

  2. Mainly it’s just wrong to see a Woody Allen movie with sans-serif font graphic design. Not that I’ve seen a Woody Allen movie since the lamentable ‘Small Time Crooks,’ maybe it’s status quo by now.
