Arraignments are boring. Even arraignments of mothers who are alleged to have thrown their children off the Sellwood Bridge. This is perhaps best demonstrated in the Oregonian’s live blog of the arraignment of Amanda Jo Stott-Smith this afternoon. Including some very odd non-sequiturs:

2 p.m. The working girls stand out from the melee, with their leg warmers and brightly colored, skin tight lycra.

Go, new media! Meanwhile my friend Nancy Rommelmann covered the arraignment in extensive detail over on her blog.

Matt Davis was news editor of the Mercury from 2009 to May 2010.

  1. Buddy I hope they teach a barista class at the Columbia School of Journalism because I get all my news from Twitter now.

Today’s lead story: Ashton Kutcher ate a sandwich.
