A statement just issued by Mayor Sam Adams:
MEDIA STATEMENT
The Attorney General’s office released the results of its five-month investigation today, clearing me of wrong-doing.
I made mistakes in my personal life that led to this investigation. As a result, the city I love was put through an ordeal. I am gratified the investigation has been completed, and I want to reiterate that I am sorry.
I want to thank Portlanders for their support and understanding. I want to also thank my colleagues, the hardworking employees of the City of Portland, and my focused staff for helping to deliver exceptional results over the past five months.
I will continue to fight to put Portlanders people back to work, address the high-school dropout rate, and strategically plan for Portland’s future.
Thank you for your support.

AAAAHHHHHHH.
For all belly-up tail-wagging Adams supporters, please, witness for one second, why he will be recalled….
….”clearing me of wrong-doing….”, while apologizing for non-wrongdoing….because lying is not wrongdoing….
What a trainwreck.
Recallers, get girded up for battle-there is NO reason to have to tolerate this abuse.
He’s sorry he got caught…….isn’t that the same thing???
Yeah so he is a self centered prick but who isn’t these days.
gonetorio: Still mad that he didn’t sleep with a 17 year old, I see. Weeping and withering over the fact that you can’t accept that it wasn’t a lie when he denied sleeping with a 17 year old and deflected the accusations made by Ball?
BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Sleeping? Noone ever mentioned sleeping….abusing the electorate’s trust through managed deception….this is the problem that somehow never comes into focus for you.
The 17/18 thing is totally irrelevant and always has been, other than the fact that it cast a criminal shadowplay over the events that distracted people from the ethical questions.
Good riddance to the age of consent as a topic of discussion.
They’re going to need a lot of minivans to get all those homophobic soccer moms up here from Lake Oswego and Tualatin.
No straw-men here…
> it wasn’t a lie
Uh, he admitted lying, in an official statement. So you’re saying he lied about lying? What if he was lying about lying about lying?
Adams should end every press conference with the Liar Paradox:
“This statement is a lie.”
