In honor of the anniversary of Joe Strummer’s passing—it should have been you, John Lydon—the Slingshot Lounge (5532 SE Center) will be pouring free PBR and spinning nothing but Clash songs tomorrow from 7-10 pm (or until the beer runs out). They better include some of his underappreciated work with the Mescaleros as well.

I saw the Roseland show..it was great as expected. Joe did an instore at MM on 23rd earlier that day. I had to take a final at PSU though. I scrambled to finish the final, got on my bike and hauled over to NW 23rd. As I was frantically locking up my bike there were large crowds of people coming out saying things like “that was the greatest thing I have ever seen”. I went in though and watched him sign autographs.
A great loss to music, to London, to kids who need to know.
