This morning Variety released the 2010 Emmy nominations list. I’m of the belief that we are currently in a golden age of television and, seeing how strong this list is, I felt a little justified in that. Not a lot of surprises in 30 Rock, Glee, Modern Family and Lost making out like bandits but I’m ecstatic that Friday Night Lights is getting some long-deserved attention.
A little disappointed (but not surprised) that Parks and Recreation, which had a banner season, is overlooked besides a Best Actress for Amy Poehler while The Office makes out well despite being a little hot and cold lately. Same reaction to Party Down being left off the list and Saturday Night Live and Two and a Half Men being left on but I guess I’m just arguing personal preference over longevity and success. What are your gripes and grievances, Blogtown? What deserved a nomination that didn’t get one and what should have been left off?

Shirley Jones? Who knew she was still givin’ it a go.
Cranston and Paul FTW.
Kinda cool Chris Colfer was nominated.
It’s Always Sunny got no love.
Parks and Rec had the best season of anyone since 30 Rock’s second season. We were really disappointed to find out they’re only getting half a season next year.
Aziz should be on list for Best Supporting Actor.
Agreed with everyone here that P&R had a much better year than The Office. 30 Rock was strong, and I would have liked to see some love for Always Sunny and Life and Times of Tim. After two seasons, Tim is probably my favorite show on television right now.
CC and Ore I couldn’t agree more.
How can they deny “Sunny”
