How did we miss this guy when we were profiling the Best of Oregon City?

Attorney General John Kroger announced that an Oregon City man was sentenced to 84 months in prison on child pornography charges.

Neil Bryan McKinney was sentenced today in Clackamas County Circuit Court to 84 months in prison after pleading guilty on January 14 to five counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the First Degree.

McKinney was arrested last September on a search warrant served by special agents from the Oregon Department of Justice’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

Prior to his arrest McKinney worked as a driver for First Student, Inc., a school bus transportation services company.

Apparently he had 6,300 images and 137 video files that depicted kids engaged in sexual activity. And the entire Mercury editorial team somehow failed to find him.

Sarah Shay Mirk reported on transportation, sex and gender issues, and politics at the Mercury from 2008-2013. They have gone on to make many things, including countless comics and several books.

  1. Not the entire Mercury editorial team. Isn’t that the guy who brought Evil-WSH’s old computer at the Mercury Surplus Sale about two weeks before he was busted.

You have to remember to take out the hard disk next time and break the platters into a zillion pieces.

  2. I missed the part in that post about the AA ads that confirmed the drawings were of underage girls. How is everyone so sure? Is it because they were drawn last week?
