ABC describes the show What Would You Do? as a “hidden camera, ethical dilemma series [that] puts people on the spot”—which sounds like sub-Maury Povich garbage, but as the segment below shows, it can sometimes result in something beautiful and surprising. (Yes, that beautiful and surprising something is totally manipulated and perhaps unethical, but even ten years ago, a segment such as the one below would’ve been manipulated in a much different direction.)
Don’t mess with Texas, indeed.
Thanks for the heads up, Towleroad.

@D: my girlfriend and I get stares when we kiss/hold hands in public, even in portland fucking oregon.
I’m saddened but not surprised by the NY reaction; people there are socially trained to mind their own business.
@ScrummYummy, maybe they’re just reacting to the PDA. Even heterosexual PDA can be pretty damn distracting.
Not to undermine your point, your overall experience is probably quite valid in spite of my nitpicking.
All right then. See recent news post from today:

PS: kissing on the lips/cheek and holding hands, no groping or tongue, is not very distracting PDA, in my book at least.
I absolutely abhor this type of television ‘entertainment’, whether or not – as in this case – the outcome is what one could hope for.
I still wonder though what the reaction would be like were it 2 men in a similar situation.
Lucky for you frankieb, you could just watch the link to find the answer to that.
Congratulations Frank. I realize it’s hard to watch 7 minutes of video. But it looks like you at least tried.
