After a number of thoughtful, touching Tweets following Joe Frazier’s and Heavy D’s deaths, and now this, I’m a big Mike Tyson fan this week. For those who haven’t watched yet:
Ned Lannamann is a writer and editor in Portland, Oregon. He writes about film, music, TV, books, travel, tech, food, drink, outdoors, and other things. More by Ned Lannamann

I like to forget about all the bad shit he did and watch old bouts.

Tyson was a phenomenal boxer with just crazy strength, almost unbelievable. That documentary that came out last year is worth watching, incidentally.
ZOMMMMGGGGG!!!!! THIS IS REAL ULTIMATE WIN.
I was expecting crap but it was good
Yeah, I’m a big fan of the guy who beat the shit out of his wife too.
THAT JUST MADE MY PTHURSDAY!
@C&B: IT’S NOT TYSON’S STRENGTH THAT BLOWS ME AWAY, IT’S THE SPEED AND GRACE OF HIS MOVEMENT. I BLINK AND HE’S GONE FROM THROWING JABS AT THE FACE INTO ROCKING BLODY BLOWS. WHEN HE WENT FROM CUS DMATO TO CRAZY-HAIRED DON KING HE LOST HIS WAY. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT HE COULD HAVE ACCOMPLISHED WITH A BETTER GUIDING HAND.
ALSO, CAIN IS INSANE.
@Graham: His speed, for sure, his old right hook/uppercut combo was craaaazy.
Also, this was actually funny.
I always liked Tyson.
Made a couple mistakes, sure, but loved him in the ring.
Besides, if he was a white dude he never would have gone to prison.
Yet another reason why Mike Tyson is one of my favorite people EVER.
Dislike Cain for being a batshit crazy guy with a sexual harassment problem.
Love Tyson despite “making a few mistakes” aka having a rape problem.
This makes perfect sense.
+100
@10 et all.. Tyson running for office? Fallible human being letting go of his puffed up ego?
