For two days in April, Portland's staunchly indie Stumptown Comics Fest overtakes the city, bringing comics creators from around the country to what is already a hotbed of industry talent. (Portland houses three comics publishers, as well as a surprising amount of comics professionals.) In addition to an exhibitor hall where publishers and creators hawk their wares, the weekend features panels, parties, and more—and for the third year running, April has been designated "Portland Comic Book Month" (sorry, National Poetry Month), so comics-related art shows and activities abound all month long. See stumptowncomicsfest.com for a complete list of events.
