Off-Road Velociraptor Safari. Those are words that don’t seem like they should go together. But oh, they do!
I’ll explain. Yesterday, a friend sent me a link to the trailer for a new game called Jetpack Brontosaurus. It is exactly what you probably imagine. Just in case your imagination isn’t so hot, here’s the trailer:

Pretty sweet. Who knew dinosaurs could be so graceful in the air? Anyway… I forwarded this to fellow game lover, Erik Henriksen, who informed me it was developed by the same people who created Off-Road Velociraptor Safari. The concept of O.R.V.S. is that you are a velociraptor driving a jeep with the goal of mowing down as many other velociraptors as you can. So, kind of like Grand Theft Auto meets Jurassic Park. The great thing is that it’s a web based game that you can play from your browser. Here’s the trailer:

I personally love the fact that when you make a kill the whole thing goes slo-mo. Plus, notice that you can deploy a spiked ball and chain from the head of a captured triceratops in the back of your jeep. Man, I so wish I had one of those!
I’ve been playing the game for a bit and there are plenty of other ways to score points. You can attempt to destroy your jeep, or do crazy stunts, or daredevil jumps… The controls are a bit tricky, but they are very very simple.
If O.R.V.S is this fun, I can’t imagine how many deadlines I’m going to blow with Jetpack Brontosaurus.

ORVS is the ultimate in wasting time and feeling really good about it
that actually makes me feel really bad for the virtual velociraptors harmed in the making and playing of this game.
This is an awesome site. I like it. The user comments are nice.
