Powerful conservatives may be calling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Elizabeth Warren "economically illiterate" for putting out plans to fight inequality by raising taxes on very rich Americans.

But it turns out that even a majority of Republicans—in a Fox News poll!—support the idea.

On top of that, a new poll from Politico shows "76 percent of registered voters believe the wealthiest Americans should pay more in taxes."

Warren's plan is a two-percent "wealth tax" on the tiny minority of Americans who are worth $50 million or more.

Ocasio-Cortez's plan is a tax of 70 percent on earned income above $10 million.

Don't expect to hear praise for either of these ideas from Trump during his State of the Union address tomorrow. But when you hear continued push-back against what Warren and Ocasio-Cortez are proposing, know this: Americans across party lines really, really like the idea of the super-rich contributing more to the public good.
