It was announced this morning—May 13, 2025—that the Portland Trail Blazers are up for sale. This is part of a long term plan by the owner of the NBA franchise, the Paul G. Allen Estate, to sell all of its sports holdings, fully moving its assets into the philanthropic sector.

Shared via the team’s Instagram account, the estate has released the following statement:

“The Estate of Paul G. Allen today announced it has commenced a formal sales process for the Portland Trail Blazers NBA franchise, consistent with Allen’s directive to eventually sell his sports holdings and direct all Estate proceeds to philanthropy.

The Estate has selected investment bank Allen & Company and law firm Hogan Lovells to lead the sales process, which is estimated to continue into the 2025-26 basketball season. The NBA Board of Governors must then ratify a final purchase agreement.”

This news came one day after the NBA draft lottery in which the Blazers secured the 11th draft pick for the 25/26 season.

Now that the stuffy news has been covered, who wants to go in on buying the ‘Zers?? This is our chance folks! If we all throw down like $10k, this could be a co-op! THE PEOPLE’S TEAM! *swish*

The boyfriends had a stellar second half of their 24/25 season, clinching contract extensions for the young roster. That high energy needs to be kept up if we’re going to make a real bid for playoffs next season along with keeping the towering cuties healthy and off the bench, especially the LOML Matisse Thybulle.

Hottest bfs: Matisse (obviously), Toumani Camara, Donovan Clingan... change my mind.
