You may know Genevieve Dellinger as: one half of the team (with Hazel Cox) that brought us Denwave, which initiated the transformation of an assuming complex of suites on E Burnside into the hive of indie retail that is the 811 E Burnside; designer of her eponymous apparel line for men and women; co-founder and resident DJ of Nightclubbing; procurer of vintage and thrift scores with bloodhound-like ability (check out her online store, Holme); and visual artist. She’ll be wearing the latter hat tomorrow for the opening of her new show at Stumptown downtown (128 SW 3rd), 4/4, inspired by “the accidental patterns of every day life, shapes found in sidewalk cracks and paint drips… the natural elegance found in handiwork and all the imperfections that make an object more unique. She is also driven by her fascination with the crisp, clean, deliberate patterns heard within the 4/4 bars of minimal electronic dance music.”

The pieces themselves are banners/blankets/wall hangings, of which attendees of Content 09 were given a sneak peek:

Opening reception is during tomorrow’s First Thursday melee, from 6-8 pm, and Dellinger’s work will hang in the café through January 4th. There are a crap-ton of other art/fashion events and sales coming up in the shadow of the looming holidays, so be sure to check in on MOD for ideas on where to go and what to buy…
