"That the Senate Judiciary Committee still lacks a protocol for vetting sexual harassment and assault claims that surface during a confirmation hearing suggests that the committee has learned little from the Thomas hearing, much less the more recent #MeToo movement."

BROWN VS BUEHLER: The Oregonian has a breakdown of what Oregon’s two leading gubernatorial candidates, Governor Kate Brown and Knute "Buehgle Boy" Buehler, have said thus far said about homelessness in Oregon. Buehler wants to employ a “compassionate but tough” plan that involves shaking homeless people by the shoulders and saying, "Snap out of it! Get ahold of yourself, Jerry!" allocating $10 million towards temporary shelters. Governor Brown wants to focus on permanent housing for families, veterans, and the chronically homeless because shelters don't actually do much to end the cycle of homelessness.
