A year or so after closing her entire fleet of PBJ’s Grilled food carts, restaurateur Keena Tallman is back in the business of making crowd-pleasing nut-butter- and fruit-jam-laced sandwiches and burgers.

Her shiny new brick-and-mortar opened on Saturday at 611 NW 13th, as the folks over at Eater quickly pointed out this morning.

The 40-seat, 1,500-square-foot industrial space features fast-casual counter service, a roll-up garage door, a long communal table, patio seating for about 15, a wall of inspirational quotes, and a mural by artist Adam Brock Ciresi.

Tallman’s bar will pour four local and regional beers, five seasonal signature cocktails (marionberry margaritas, winter apple cider), a trio of flavored mimosas (marionberry, pear-vanilla, orange-cayenne), and plenty of wines by the glass and beer by the bottle and can.

And, of course, there will be burgers. And sandwiches. And sides.

Tallman’s “PBJ’s burger” comprises white cheddar cheese, apple sage slaw, sage aioli, and smoked salt wasabi peanut butter, while sandwiches range from the “Smoking Goat” (slow-cooked, almond butter, bacon, goat cheese, and apricot jam) to the as-Oregon-as-it-gets “Oregonian,” which comes with pan-seared duck, hazelnut butter, smoked blue cheese, and marionberry jam on challah bread.

Sides include rosemary onion rings, homemade potato chips, side salads, and seasonal side dishes (at present, Tallman’s roasted cauliflower dish and her radicchio and kale salad with a beer vinaigrette are advertised on her wall menu under the “coming soon” banner).

Hours are 11 am to 10 pm, Sunday to Thursday, and 11 am to 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
