We know you love burgers, but do you also love helping people? You can have both!

As Portland Burger Week approaches and we drool over the 35 delectable burgers that will cost a mere $5 August 8-13, we started feeling pretty lucky. That made us think about the other folks in our city who aren't as lucky, and that made us want to do what we can to help. So we teamed up with the Oregon Food Bank to start the Burger Week Challenge!

We are challenging our readers and eaters to donate $5 to Oregon Food Bank for every delicious burger you eat during Portland Burger Week. The Mercury will match the first $500 in donations. Together, we can make it so Burger Week is more than the best week of your life—it'll also be something that helps our neighbors in need.

A $10 donation provides 30 meals for individuals struggling with hunger. So eat some burgers, donate, and feel great about helping your community.
